The following gives a flavour of the courses available. All can be tailored and mixed and matched to suit individual needs and complemented with a range outdoor 'energising' activities from sailing and raft-building to hiking and film-making.

VisionQuest: 3/5 Day Leadership and Teambuilding Course

This course starts with a focus on developing an awareness of self and self-potential and then moves onto the role of self within the company, working through to leadership, change management, teamwork and achieving goals. VisionQuest draws, in a business context, on the practices of indigenous cultures such as the Native Americans who go into the outdoors to sharpen their awareness in order to make decisions.

Communicating 100 %: 2-Day Personal Development Course

Most of us are less than 30% effective in the way we relate and communicate. This course explores how communicating at 100% is far more than just words.
Contents include:

  • The elements that make up communication

  • How the brain processes information

  • Filters and inhibitors to communicating

  • Building rapport

  • Effective listening

  • Language patterns and channels

  • Conflict management

  • Making a positive impact

  • Communication channels in the workplace

  • Introduction to NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)

  • Outdoor practical experience

 

The Art of Managing Stress: 2-day Personal Development Course

2002 is the year of stress prevention in the workplace in the European Community with Irish and other European governments placing increased pressure - including legislation - on businesses to actively manage stress at work.

This course examines the underlying causes of stress and how to manage the sources of stress in our lives. It covers:

  • How to recognise and assess stress in self and others

  • The physiological effects of stress on the mind, body and spirit

  • The effect of personality and value systems on stress

  • Formulating a stress policy in the workplace (optional)

  • Moving from surviving to managing stress : finding a work /life balance, understanding your reactions, time and body management.

Cross Cultural Communication: 2-day course

Working in an international or multi-cultural environment where individuals are expected to cooperate harmoniously together presents a myriad of challenges in communication. This course lifts the veil of cultural confusion to explain:

  • What's at the base of culture and why differences exist

  • Factors affecting thinking and decision making in different cultures

  • Good business manners - how to present yourself, build rapport and overcome language barriers

  • Facilitating meetings and making presentations - pitfalls to avoid

  • How to build harmony in international teams

  • Dealing with international media (optional)

  • Teambuilding / communication outdoor experience

 

Feel the Fear and Do it - Overcoming Obstacles and Achieving Goals: 2 day course

We are often held back by ingrained beliefs about ourselves and a variety of fears and phobias. When faced with change, these beliefs and fears can prevent us from moving forward. This course includes:

  • Understanding personal identity, programming and inhibitors

  • How we create our own reality and the power of belief

  • Goal setting and goal management for self

  • Goal coaching with others

  • Outdoor experience
